Emma Lewis is a freelance documentary photographer who's work focuses on giving people a voice through her images. She is interested in depicting people's stories in a way that represents their experiences, looking into the presentation of gender and inequalities in society.
Emma aims to produce work that gives her subjects a voice and challenges stereotypical documentary methods by experimenting with photo manipulation and text in her images.
She has had a passion for photography since a very early age and has always had a passion for documenting everyday life that is usually perceived as mundane.
Emma is currently studying BA(Hons) Photography at Coventry University.

In January 2020, Emma worked with her college's theatre students to take their headshots for their portfolios and before this, had experience working in the studio setting up lights and equipment to produce effective, professional portraits. As well as this, she has shot professional portraits for course mates and lecturer at University to have as a headshot for websites and social medias.
In August 2016, Emma shot images at the Bournemouth Air Festival and entered some of the images into a competition, following this, her images were published onto the Bournemouth Echo website.
